Have a Green Day
Beau March 17th, 2010
Happy St. Patrick’s Day that is…
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
And may you have something for your table to share with family and friends.
A little corned beef with potatoes and veggies will fit nicely :)
Speaking of potatoes, it’s a good week to head outside and get a few planted in the garden. With luck that will leave time for another planting this summer.
Beau, have a happy St Patricks day.
Isn’t St. Patrick’s Day the traditional day to plant potatoes or is it the Ides of March? I should think the former as there’s not much of a connection between Julius Caesar/Brutus/Cassius and root vegetables.
Cheers.
Thanks Vince! You know Randall, I think it is- but it makes you wonder, “traditional for whom?” Here in Missouri it’s a good time, so perhaps this latitude mirrors the same dates from generations ago. The boy and I went out and planted a few pounds yesterday for good measure :)
May luck be our companion
May friends stand by our side
May history remind us all
Of Ireland’s faith and pride.
May God bless us with happiness
May love and faith abide.
May you always have
Walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!
