Sunshine On My Shoulders

April 3rd, 2010

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy…

If I had a day that I could give you
I’d give to you a day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I’d sing a song to make you feel this way

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy…
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a tale that I could tell you
I’d tell a tale sure to make you smile
If I had a wish that I could wish for you
I’d make a wish for sunshine all the while

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy…

I cannot hear or read the lyrics to that song without thinking about one of my housemates in college who played the guitar but made up satirical lyrics to popular songs:

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me sunburned.
Sunshine in my eyes can make me blind.

Don’t ask about the Ballad of Jed Clampett.

    Cheers.

Although I wouldn’t have admitted it back in my younger days, I unabashedly say that I love that song now. Nothing reminds me of it more than a sunny spring day.

Randall- Glad it brings back such fond memories! Funny what we do remember… I’d like to hear that Beverly Hillbillies tune!

Ed- I’m with you on that one. Just came to mind while I was editing the pictures.
