Snow on Christmas Day
Beau December 25th, 2009
Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold,
everything is softer and more beautiful.
– Norman Vincent Peale
The snow began in the morning… just enough to brighten the day.
What a nice surprise… a white Christmas after days of rain, with snow falling still. Just not three feet of it like some of you! The birds are having their own feast…
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
– Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Up here we got rain that made our snow turn to dirty ice (Dirty White Christmas)… But the temperature dropped back below freezing and it was snowing again this morning.
Less than one inch here. Just cold and windy. My niece and her husband are heading back to Manhattan, KS on Sunday and are dreading that trip, given the weather forecast.
I hope you and yours had a great Christmas.
Cheers.
No snow here on Christmas Day! We had a downpour of rain all day long, but no new snow. I guess we got ours a week early. But that’s okay, Christmas was great anyway. Happy holidays, Beau!
Rained four or five inches leading up to Christmas Day here melting all but a few piles of dirty snow. Then the rain turned to snow (no freezing rain!) Christmas morning and it snowed non-stop until about noon today leaving us with about a foot of the fluffiest powder I have ever seen. Great fun to three year olds!
Sun is out now which makes me happy!
Happy holidays!
Happy 2010 to you and yours!
Cheers.
